Turkey & Syria Earthquake 2023 Emergency Appeal
Numerous aftershocks have been noticed after this morning’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which occurred while people were still asleep.
Hundreds of buildings have collapsed in both nations, and rescue crews are scurrying to save individuals who are buried beneath the wreckage.
Donate Now to help those affected by the earthquake
As the earthquake’s epicentre was close to the Turkish city of Gaziantep, millions of people in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Cyprus felt it.
The earthquake destroyed neighbourhoods on the Syrian side of the border that were home to 4 million people who had been forced to flee their homes due to the protracted civil conflict in that nation. Many of them have poor living circumstances and minimal access to healthcare. The injured immediately overflowed the local hospitals.
Progress is also being hampered by the weather, which puts those who are already vulnerable in danger due to the heavy snow and rain.
Sabeel Foundation Charity has been on the ground in Turkey assisting Syrian refugees. We need your help to provide immediate emergency aid to individuals affected by the earthquake as desperate recovery operations go on.
